Configuring your Windows Auditing

Audit data holds a wealth of untapped knowledge, allowing the system adminsitrator to monitor access, and modification of the file system. Using the Nxlog tool you can unlock this potential in a matter of minutes.

Windows Audit Logs

If you already have Nxlog installed and configured to send windows event logs, then you're only a few minutes away from also streaming your audit logs, if you don't have a configured Nxlog installation read our Nxlog installation guide.

1) Enable Auditing

To enable auditing on a windows machine you'll need to access secpol.msc, this can be done by simply searching for the file, or running it via run or command prompt, once there select local policies and then audit policy, to enable or disabled a property simply double click.

2) Check Logscape for connectivity

Check the logscape auditing workspace to make sure your logs are entering the Logscape Cloud.
